Our little tough guy

While we were trying to have a vacation at Fourth Cliff, we had a little scare with Logan. He had been throwing up quite a bit, and the day after we got to Fourth Cliff he was not keeping anything down at all. I called the nurse on base to see if they wanted to see him and she called back to tell me that the doctor wanted us to take him to the closest ER so that they could do an ultrasound of his stomach. Luckily, Chris' parents were at Fourth Cliff with us so they were able to stay with the older kids and continue their vacation.
Chris and I took Logan to South Shore Hospital where they told us that he had pyloric stenosis. Pyloric stenosis is a narrowing of the pylorus, the lower part of the stomach where food passes through to enter the small intestine. The muscles in the pylorus became enlarged to the point where food could not empty out of the stomach. They told us that he would have to go to Children's Hospital Boston and have surgery to fix it. They took the two of us by ambulance and Chris met us there.
The next day they did the surgery. I guess it is a common surgery and everyone was telling us that we were at the best hospital with the best surgeons, but of course I was terrified to have my 4 week old go under the knife. They were able to do a laparoscopic surgery and go through his belly button so there are no large scars.
Everything went fine and he is doing great now. He loves eating and has gained the weight back that he lost and then some. We are so proud of our little tough guy!

This is a picture of him getting ready for a walk the day after we got back to Fourth Cliff. He loves going on walks!
It has now been two weeks, and you would never know that he had surgery.
